KOCHI: Heavy rains the city caused Kuwait Airways flight

KU357

carrying around 160 passengers to land off-centered from the runway on Tuesday at 2:20am.

Cochin International Airport officials informed that the flight which was entering its

final lap

of landing was suddenly moved off the center of the runway due to sudden crosswind along with rains drastically bringing down the visibility on the Southern side of runway causing a flight to land away from it's designated path.

During the landing, the flight also knocked off a couple of airport's side runway lights as well.

The pilot had immediately taken control of the situation and eventually taxied the flight at the parking stand.

Airport

officials informed that airport operations had halted for nearly 20 minutes, during which the runway lights and the debris from the incident were cleared off.

Airport officials informed that the flight departed Kuwait at 9:40am after wheel change was done and that the passengers on board the flight were unharmed.
