Kochi city hosts short film festival
Kochi: Second edition of LK International Short Film Festival (LKIFF) will be held at Sree Gokulam Convention Centre on Tuesday. There are over 1,000 official entries from across the nation.The jury panel is chaired by Malayalam director Kamal. Alongside him, a seven-member committee of industry experts will evaluate the diverse pool of submissions.The festival honours excellence across several categories with cash rewards for Best Short Film (Rs 1,00,000). LKIFF celebrates a wide spectrum of storytelling, with dedicated awards for Best Documentary, Best Animated Short and a specialized school & campus category to encourage budding student talent.Of the vast entry pool, 50 films will earn an Official Selection for screening, with 35 receiving special appreciation awards. A Special Jury Award will be presented to a standout film that displays exceptional cinematic vision.LKIFF aims to bridge the gap between independent creators and a larger audience, while cementing Kochi's reputation as a vital node in India's short-film circuit, organizers said.
