Kerala: Vazhakkad accident case accused in police custody

MALAPPURAM: The special police team which is probing the death of a youth in an accident at Vazhakkad on Tuesday morning took the accused of the case, Khader, 42, into custody on Wednesday evening.
Police have confirmed that the accident involving Innova car and motorbike which occurred in front of Vazhakkad police station, was an attempt to murder.It was around 10am, the car ran over motorbike which led to the death of bike rider Asif, 23, a native of Thiruvalur near Vazhakkad. Asif’s friend Mubashir was seriously injured in the accident. Immediately after the incident, Khader, who was driving the car managed to flee the scene.
Police have found that that the families of accused Khader and his neighbour Mubashir had a disturbing history and they had clashed before. Police suspect that the accident was planned to eliminate Mubashir but, it was Asif, who got killed.
It was after a detailed search conducted in various locations across the district that police located Khader at Palakkad.
Earlier, police had received information that Khader visited his home which is situated around 2km away from the accident spot. He had left home after shifting his family members to relative’s house.
