Aluva West police

on Friday arrested three people for allegedly waylaying a biker and attacking him using an iron pipe.

The arrested have been identified as

Suneer Chirukandathi

(31) of Chalakkal, Rafeek Mullapallil (42) of

Kuttamassery

and Rahim Kolayil (45) of Kuttumassery.

The accused had allegedly attacked the complainant on June 16 after following him on three motorbikes which had fake number plates.

The accused were booked for attempt to murder. Police had earlier arrested two other accused in the case. The second accused Faisal Haidrali and the third accused Shafeek were arrested earlier.

Police said the complainant had interfered in an issue related to the religious conversion of another man and this is suspected to be the reason for the attack.

The accused were presented in the court and were remanded in judicial custody. The case is being probed by a team led by Aluva DSP G Venu.
