Kerala pegs flood losses at Rs 2,102 crore

Based on criteria fixed by the Centre, the state has submitted a memorandum pegging losses due to the recent floods and landslides at an estimated Rs 2,101.9 crore to the central government team which is on a five-day visit to Kerala.

KOCHI: Based on criteria fixed by the Centre, the state has submitted a memorandum pegging losses due to the recent floods and landslides at an estimated Rs 2,101.9 crore to the central government team which is on a five-day visit to Kerala.
The seven-member team arrived in Kochi on Monday as part of a five-day visit to assess the damages.
The team led by Shri Prakash, joint secretary, ministry of home affairs, will split in two teams and visit the floodaffected districts of Malappuram, Wayanad, Kannur, Alappuzha, Thrissur and Ernakulam.

The other members tnnof the team include K Manoharan, agriculture director, S C Meena, joint director, finance ministry, O P Suman, deputy director, power, V Mohan Murali, senior engineer, water resources ministry, Anita Baghel, director, rural development and V V Sastry, regional officer, transport ministry.
The state was represented by V Venu, principal secretary-disaster management & state relief commissioner and district collectors S Suhas (Ernakulam), Adeela Abdulla (Alappuzha), S Shanavas (Thrissur), Jaffer Malik (Malappuram), A R Ajayakumar (Wayanad), T V Subhash (Kannur) and K Gopalkrishnan (Thiruvananthapuram).
