ALAPPUZHA: Agriculture minister V S Sunilkumar said that he is also favouring the
Kerala high court observation that it was better that
Thomas Chandy step down from the government, considering that the first respondent in his petition was the state government.
He was speaking to newsmen as part of his visit to Kuttanad on Tuesday. "What the high court said about Chandy is also my opinion in Thomas Chandy issue," he said.
The minister also said that the state government is responsible for giving a new lease of life to Kuttanad. The minister said that organic farming will be conducted in all the available parts of Kuttanad. The minister was speaking after inaugurating the harvesting of organic farming conducted at Padinjare Mangalassery Paddy fields within Ramankari Krishi Bhavan.
"We need to do hardwork for spreading organic farming in all the parts of Kuttanad. We should develop more organic friendly seeds instead of the seeds which needs, high quantity fertilizers and pesticides. Special direction has been given to agriculture research station for developing seeds for conducting organic farming," he said.
Sunilkumar said that the farming would resume in R block while speaking at a review meeting het at collectorate on Tuesday.
