Kerala & TN stand together to protect civilian rights: Kanimozhi
Kochi: DMK leader and Thoothukudi MP K Kanimozhi said Kerala and Tamil Nadu stand together to ensure that the rights of each citizen are protected. She was speaking at an event organised on Friday by a people's collective to honour Sister Vinitha, who retired as the manager of St Teresa's College."Tamil Nadu and Kerala stand together to protect this country as what our forefathers envisioned it to be. To ensure that this country is inclusive, that it belongs to everybody, and to ensure the rights of every citizen to live the way they think is right," she said.Kanimozhi, who was the chief guest of the event, highlighted Sister Vinitha's dedication to empowering women and creating opportunities for those traditionally marginalised in society, noting that the tribute organised by the people's collective reflected her success in advancing women's progress.The event celebrated Sister Vinitha's (Celine E) significant impact on education and social development in Kochi. She began her journey at St Teresa's as an English faculty member in 1988, later serving as principal from 2014 to 2015, director (until 2020), and later became the manager. Her decades-long service brought numerous state and national recognitions to the institution, including the autonomous status.Ernakulam MP Hibi Eden presided over the function. T J Vinod MLA, writer M K Sanu among others were part of the function.
