Kerala: Alkesh Kumar Sharma to head Special Projects (Infrastructure)

KOCHI: The state government has created Special Projects (Infrastructure), a dedicated post for the major infrastructure and developmental projects in Kerala. The focus is on the expedition of major projects like the

Vizhinjam

Port project and the semi high speed railway.

The government appointed additional chief secretary

Alkesh Kumar Sharma

as the head of the Special Projects.

"Within a year we are looking forward to expediting the major infrastructure projects. The plan is to execute and expand these projects." said Alkesh Kumar Sharma.

Sharma is also the MD of

Kochi Metro Rail Limited

. Government considered the expertise of Mr Sharma in handling major projects like

Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor

which is Rs 7.4 lakh crore project.

Other major projects include city gas project, waterways and canal project.
