KOCHI: Representatives of Kerala Bank vice-president MK Kannan appeared before enforcement directorate's (ED) Kochi office on Thursday with documents related to his assets and financial dealings. Sources said the documents were produced as per ED's directive. Meanwhile, ED collected statements from Peringandoor cooperative bank secretary TR Rajan and Wadakkanchery municipality councillor Madhu Ambalapuram on Thursday.

ED said its investigation had found that third accused Aravindakshan PR was maintaining bank accounts with Peringandoor bank which he did not disclose. ED said investigation showed that there was a transaction for Rs 63,56,460 in the bank account of his mother, Chandramathi (90) and that the said Chandramathi has no income other than her agricultural pension of Rs 1,600/month.

ED had also said that her nominee was one Sreejith, introduced as her son though she had no son named Sreejith and that a probe in that aspect was needed. Interestingly, first accused Satheesh Kumar's brother Sreejith P was also being questioned by ED.

There were allegations against Madhu as well with ED stating in a remand report that it had received a statement from a witness that Aravindakshan, along with one Madhu Ambalapuram, threatened he and his family on the instructions of Kumar. tnn
