KOCHI: In a movie one can only see the end result - its glitz, glamour and drama.
The amount of work done by a cine artist and a person behind the camera is often not seen.
Hollywood director-producer-writer Kurt Inderbitzin led a one-day workshop about filmmaking on Saturday to put the true limelight on the men and women behind the scene.
The workshop was conducted at Ashir Bhavan, Kacheripady.

It was organized by the International Film and Media School based in Hyderabad, as part of its outreach programme in Kerala.
Kurt Inderbitzin, CEO of this non-profit media school, was the main moderator and spokesperson for the event. "Our aim is to show that there is a lot of hard work and guiding needed apart from just luck and talent to survive in the media industry today," Kurt said.
The first half of the event had roped in Suresh Pillai, general manager, human resources, Malayala Manorama, and Afzal, an aspiring actor. It centered on the career possibility in the media at large, both film and television.
Suresh Pillai was of the opinion that there was a huge dearth in the Kerala media of trained media professionals.
"And therein lies the need for more media schools to come up," Kurt said. What started as an informal gathering of a few like-minded people soon became an impromptu shooting set. Inderbitzin became an onstage director and had volunteers from the crowd to be actors, cameramen and so on.
The three-hour workshop focused on technical aspects like the camera angles to be taken, objective analysis of movies these days and more importantly, as Kurt puts it, "Missing the obvious and having common sense". He reasoned that even common sense could be taught, provided the student was provided proper mentorship.
