Kochi: IMD's yellow alert for heavy rainfall at isolated places in the state will remain in force till May 9. On Monday, Wayanad, Palakkad and Idukki are expected to witness heavy rainfall at one or two places, while Ernakulam, Idukki and Wayanad will receive heavy rainfall on Tuesday. Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur will get heavy rainfall on Wednesday, while heavy rainfall is expected in Alappuzha, Kottayam and Ernakulam on Thursday. In view of this, IMD cautioned people to take precautionary measures. IMD warned thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds were very likely to occur at one or two places over the state till Thursday. Many places in the state remained cloudy, reducing the impact of ultraviolet (UV) radiation on Sunday, with the highest UV index of the day recorded in Munnar at 8. No hot and humid weather warning has been issued for any places in the state for the coming days.
