Hartal observed in North Paravoor

Kochi: The dawn-to-dusk hartal called by National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at North Paravoor - in connection with the death of Bharatiya Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) leader C Venu (47) - partially affected normal life.

However, the hartal was complete at Venu's native place Moothakunnam, North Paravoor. A former CPM functionary, Venu was found hanging from the roof of CPM's party office in Moothakunnam on Monday. The NDA called for hartal after BDJS were suspicious of the circumstances under which Venu died. He had joined BDJS and worked for the party during the past assembly election.
