On September 6, they returned to their hotel and went to sleep early as they had to catch a flight on September 7.
"When we woke up in the morning, we found that the hotel was flooded till the second floor. We had lost communication with our family members and there was no enough water to drink or go to the bathroom as even the storage water in the hotel was spoilt. After six days I had a bath on Saturday morning," said George.
They were airlifted from their hotel terrace on September 11. "We collected important items in our handbag and decided to leave our baggage behind, as people were rushing to get into the flight that had a carrying capacity of 200. After all, human life is more precious than material objects," he added.
