The incident came to light when the girls told their teachers about the incident. The girls had noted the number of the car and had conveyed it to their teacher.
The police said they started the investigation after the school principal lodged a complaint. Upon investigating the registration number of the car, they found that it belonged to the actor.
“The actor was detained and was questioned based on the complaint. The investigation is on and the accused will soon be nabbed,” said a senior police officer with the Ottapalam police.
However, Sreejith Ravi told media that the children could’ve made a mistake with the number. He also claimed that the children would have recognized him if he was the culprit.
