Kochi: The condition of filmmaker Rajesh Pillai, who has been admitted to a hospital here following liver ailment and pneumonia, is reportedly critical. He was admitted to the hospital on Thursday.
Pillai is now on ventilator support. Hospital authorities said the next 24 hours would be critical though there are signs of improvement in his condition. Pillai has been suffering from the ailment for the past two years and family sources said his mother had succumbed to the ailment.
Pillai had made his directorial debut with 'Hrudayathil Sookshikkan', followed by 'Traffic' - considered a path-breaker in Malayalam cinema and 'Mili'. 'Vetta', his latest directorial venture, was released on Friday.
