police on Saturday arrested a father-son duo on charge of selling liquor illegally. Varghese (63) and his son
Biju Varghese (40), were targeting tipplers on 'dry days'.
The police said the two were operating an illegal bar at their home near North Fort Gate in Tripunithura.
On Saturday, the Hill Palace police headed by sub-inspector S

conducted a surprise inspection at their house. The police seized seven litre of liquor, which they had stocked to sell to the customers.
With Saturday and Sunday being dry days due to first day of the month and Gandhi Jayanthi, the duo had planned to make quick bucks by selling liquor purchased from
Bevco
outlets and selling it at higher prices. The accused were booked under Abkari Act and produced before magistrate.
