Ekadasi celebrated with great fervour at Guruvayur temple

GURUVAYUR: Guruvayur Ekadasi with special rituals was celebrated at Sree Krishna temple on Friday.
Thousands of devotees thronged the temple and offered prayers from early morning itself. Special kazhcha siveli vilaku ezhunnalippu and udhyasthamana pooja were held at the temple as part of Guruvayur Ekadasi. Nearly 30,000 devotees were served with special Ekadasi meals and wheat payasam.Devaswom chairman T V Chandramohan, devaswom members N Raju, A Sureshan, Anil Tharanilam, K Sivasnkaran, K Janardhanan, administrator K Muralidharan and temple deputy administrator T Vijayan Nambiar monitored the celebrations. Devotees will end the Ekadasi vritham with thulasi theertham and dhwadasi oanam samarpanam ritual on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Chembai music festival concluded at Melpathur auditorium at midnight on Friday. Carnatic maestros Madurai T N Seshagopal and Jayavijaya Jayan enthralled music lovers with concerts on Ekadasi day.
