District court annuls poll result

KOCHI: Additional district court has annulled the election result of M M

Abdul Kareem

of the

UDF

as district panchayat member from Bhoothathankettu division in the local body election held this year.

The court issued the order considering a petition filed by

K M Pareeth

, who had contested as the LDF candidate against Kareem.

Pareeth's petition said that Kareem had deliberately concealed certain facts in the election nomination.

With Kareem's election result annulled by the court, Pareeth will be the new member to

Ernakulam

district panchayat from the division.
