CWC seeks case against Kizhakkambalam park over kid’s death
Kochi: Ernakulam district child welfare committee (CWC) has demanded that a case of culpable homicide be filed against owners of Lions Jungle Park in Kizhakkambalam, where a five-year-old boy drowned. The establishment was operating without any licence or approval, committee stated.The deceased, Muhammad Adam, was part of a pre-school group who visited the park.The park lacked safety precautions and adequate security personnel. Only ropes were used to cordon off very dangerous waterbodies and swamps, committee observed.Teachers responsible for ensuring safety of children also failed in their duties, committee stated. After visiting the site, CWC vice-chairman K S Arun Kumar filed a complaint with Thadiyittaparambu police. Complaint demands action against those responsible under charge of culpable homicide and Juvenile Justice Act. tnn
