THRISSUR: The medical board constituted for the management of the nCoV situation, on Wednesday, recommended the discharge of eight people under surveillance at
Thrissur Medical College Hospital
following an improvement in their condition. The board however made it clear that they will now be under home quarantine for 28 days, as per protocol.
The district administration and health officials have decided to conduct sensitisation programmes among migrant workers in the district. The district ad ministration has convened a meeting of religious leaders at 10.30am on Thursday. It will be held at the collect orate and aims to spread awareness.
As per latest data, 230 people are under home quarantine in the district. Another 30 are under hospital-based surveillance.
12 Koz samples negative
Swab and blood samples of 12 people, including three admitted to
isolation
wards of
Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital
and Beach Government General Hospital, were found to be negative.
Consequently, the three in the wards were discharged. Health department officials in Kozhikode on Wednesday informed that the three have been asked to remain in home quarantine for another two weeks.
A medical student who arrived from China, hailing from Feroke, has been admitted to Beach hospital with mild fever. At present, four are under observation at Beach hospital and one at MCH isolation wards.
More moved to home quarantine in
Kottayam
Eight more people who returned from novel coronavirus-affected areas and those who have been in contact with them have been advised home quarantine. With this, the number under home quarantine in the district has risen to 89.
Nobody was admitted to the isolation ward of the Government Medical College Hospital on Wednesday. Three people, including two whose first samples tested negative, remain in the isolation ward. Samples of four more persons who had returned from affected areas were sent for testing. Since no symptoms are visible,
S they have been asked to remain home quarantined.
Alappuzha student stable
The condition of the student, who was admitted in the isolation ward of Alappuzha Medical College Hospital with nCoV, is stable, said district collector M Anjana.
Eight people who were in the hospital with suspected symptoms were discharged on Wednesday. One person was admitted with suspected symptoms and a total of eight people are now under observation.
Meanwhile, Nooranad police arrested Sreejith, 36, and Vikesh, 23, both from Thamarakaulam, for disclosing on social media the identity of a person under house quarantine. The case has been registered under sections 505 (2) (b), 268 and 120 (o) of the
Kerala Police Act.
