TRIPUNITHURA: The Congress and CPI have come together to form Cooperative Democratic Front (CDF) to fight against CPM.
The CDF has been formed following the rift between CPI and CPM at Udayamperoor. CDF will fight against CPM in the upcoming election to Udayamperoor Cooperative Bank No. 747 on December 9.
An election convention held here was jointly chaired by DCC president V J Paulose and CPI-supported fishermen federation state secretary T Raghuvaran.
1x1 polls

Raghuvaran, who was a CPM follower, joined CPI and it led to a flow of more 1,000 families to CPI fold. It resulted in LDF losing Udayamperoor panchayat.
In the upcoming elections, Congress-CPI tie-up is planning to field candidates against the CPM panel.
