Chargesheet filed in Malayattoor aviation student murder
Kochi: Ernakulam Rural police has filed a chargesheet in connection with its investigation into the death of 19-year-old aviation student Chitrapriya, who had gone missing from Mundangamattam near Malayattoor late last year. Kalady police filed the chargesheet, which ran to around 200 pages, before a court in Perumbavoor. Her boyfriend, Alan (21), is the sole accused in the case. Chithrapriya, a first-year aviation degree student in Bengaluru, returned home on holiday and went missing in Dec last year after attending a temple event with her family. After returning home, she told them she was stepping out but did not return, prompting her family to lodge a missing person complaint at the Kalady police station. A search operation was launched after which police found her body in a deserted plot near Manappattuchira a few days later, not far from her home. The body, already decomposed, was found with a head injury. The nature of the injuries ruled out an accidental death and led police to suspect foul play. A postmortem examination confirmed severe head trauma as the cause of death.
