KOTTAYAM: Trespassing charges were filed against seven people, including six women, who came to meet Hadiya, who was known as Akhila before she chose to convert to
Islam
, at her house on Wednesday. The cases were filed against one Faisal of Mundakkayam, his wife Shabna and five other women by Vaikom police

They also told Hadiyas father Ashokan that they had come to present dress and books as Onam gift to Hadiya. However,
Hadiya's father Ashokan told them that he has been providing her daughter with whatever she requires and asked them to leave. The girls protested in front of the house and a police team who reached the spot rounded them up.
They also took into custody Faisal, based on a complaint from local residents who said that he was seen in the area from morning. The cases were filed after
Asokan registered a complaint.
