Cardinal writes to clergy, lay people

Kochi: Syro Malabar Church head Cardinal George Alencherry has issued a letter to the clergy and faithful regarding the visit of the members of the Church’s Permanent Synod to the Vatican where they discussed the issues in the Ernakulam-Angamaly archdiocese with the higher authorities.
The cardinal’s letter, written after his return from Rome, says that a very detailed discussion was held with Pietro Cardinal Parolin, the Secretary of State and Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti, the Prefect of the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches.
“The results of the meeting will come out in the due course of time,” the letter said, which also urged to avoid speculations and public comments which would further disturb the unity of the Church.
