Boy drowns in swimming pool of a resort in Kumarakom

Kottayam: An eight-year-old boy drowned in the swimming pool of a resort in Kumarakom on Wednesday evening.The deceased is Naban, son of Najeem from Nunu House on Vengara SS Road, Malappuram. The incident occurred around 4pm. According to reports, Naban was part of a family group, consisting of 29 members, who arrived at the Paradise Resort in Kumarakom. Naban reportedly drowned while more than 10 people from the group were in the swimming pool. He was a Class III student at Vengara Al Ihsan English Medium School. Police said that the boy's body will be taken to his native place after postmortem procedures at Kottayam medical college hospital. He is survived by mother Ummusalma, siblings Naseem, Nahian and Fathima.
