The mock drill will be held at 2 pm on Saturday and it is aimed at testing the preparedness of the emergency response teams in the event of a bomb threat, a press statement issued by the registry of the court said. The drill is part of the court’s ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and security of everyone who works at or visits the court’s premises, the registry informed.

Friday’s drill is being conducted in close coordination with the local authorities and emergency services and necessary precautions have been taken to ensure the safety of all participants, the statement from the registry said.

During the drill, a bomb-threat scenario will be simulated and the emergency response teams, including security personnel, firefighters, and medical staff, will respond as per the court’s emergency protocols, as per the statement.

Apart from being an opportunity for the emergency response teams to familiarize themselves with the emergency protocols and equipment, the drill will help identify any weaknesses or gaps in the emergency-response procedures and take corrective measures to address them, the registry said. Further information on the drill can be obtained from the ‘J Section’ of the high court or by phone at 0484-2562437.
