Bomb hoax: Police arrest 55-yr-old man

Kochi: Nedumbassery police on Thursday arrested a 55-year-old man after he allegedly raised a bomb hoax threat at Cochin International Airport (Cial).
The incident delayed an international flight by at least an hour, sources said.
The arrested has been identified as Sabu Varghese of Thrikkakara.
Police said that the accused had arrived at the airport to board a Spice Jet flight to Dubai. The flight was scheduled to take off at around 11.30pm on Wednesday. Varghese was agitated after officials asked him to undergo a security check again. He then told officials that there was a bomb in the baggage of another passenger who was standing ahead of him in the queue.
Officials then checked the baggage of the said passenger and confirmed that it did not contain any explosives.
Varghese was later handed over to Nedumbassery police.
Police said that he was booked for spreading rumours or giving a false alarm to mislead the police or any other essential service under the Kerala Police Act. He was later released on bail.
