KOCHI: ‘Suvarnashobha’, the year-long golden jubilee celebrations of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir Elamakkara, was inaugurated by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Mumbai joint executive secretary and registrar Jagadish Lakhani in the school on Monday.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (Kochi Kendra) chairman C A Venugopal C Govind presided over the function and director E Ramankutty presented a brief history of the school titled ‘A walk down the memory lane’.
After the inaugural address, the logo of the jubilee year was released. Alumni Justice Devan Ramachandran and Kochi mayor M Anil Kumar delivered the keynote address and message of goodwill, respectively.
Former principal and Bhavan’s Research and Development Centre Kochi Kendra coordinator Jaya Jacob, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (Kochi Kendra) former chairman Justice K S Radhakrishnan, parents’ representative Sandhya Sasi and students’ representative Kavya R offered felicitations.
Principal Sunitha S welcomed the gathering and vice-principal Sreejyothi N proposed the vote of thanks.
