Bedridden woman killed by husband in Palakkad
Palakkad: A 56-year-old bedridden woman was choked to death by her husband in Pattithara, Palakkad, on Wednesday morning. Usha Nandini was murdered by her husband, Muralidharan, reportedly using a pillow. Muralidharan was later arrested by the Trithala police. According to Radha K P, a ward member in Pattithara panchayat, Usha was bedridden following a fall in the bathroom around two months ago. Usha's 97-year-old father was in the house when she was murdered and the couple's son was in the homestead."Both her hands were enervated following the fall. She could not raise her hands when Muralidharan choked her with the pillow. I learned that he later sent a voice message in the family group saying he killed Usha as he could not bear to see her debilitating health condition and that he was ready to face any consequences. It was then that others came to know about the murder. When her son came back from the homestead, he found Usha motionless on the bed and did not respond to his call.He soon approached neighbours for help," Radha said.Usha's body is kept at govt medical college, Mulankunnathukavu, Thrissur.
