Thrissur: LDF and UDF leaders in Thrissur raised another allegation of food kit distribution against BJP on Wednesday. They alleged that the unit is run by the brother of a BJP leader.LDF workers led by P K Biju, K V Abdul Khader and V S Sunil Kumar launched a sit-in in front of the collectorate. They alleged that BJP is trying to tamper with the democratic election process using money power. They also alleged that Election Commission (EC) is not taking prompt action on such complaints and this is emboldening BJP leaders to continue illegal actions.DCC president Joseph Tajet alleged that BJP is trying to disturb the legitimate election process in Thrissur by deploying money power, like they are doing in north India. "EC is not taking prompt action," Tajet alleged.BJP leader Ravikumar Uppath refuted the allegations and said the party has no link with the kit production. "It is supposed to be a godown and how do we know who has stocked the kits there. Also, there was no allegation of kit distribution," he said.
