The five-member band comprises guitarist Scheroan Zibari, drummer Christin Neddens, keyboardist Mahir Altunel, bass guitarist Simon Dallmann and vocalist cum lyricist Peer Eric Poehlmann.
Led by Scheroan Zibari, who is popularly known as Schero, the band is inspired by American music culture. Schero’s Five became a formal band in 2015.
Schero, Simon, Peer and Mahir have played together for seven years and shared most of their best music experience together. Christin, who is the sole female member of the band, joined them a few months ago for the India tour.
At the event in Kochi, they showcased cover versions of various hits songs from American musicians like John Mayer, Bruno Mars, Anderson Paak among others. They also performed the band’s own compositions along with classics, melodies, and modern pop with a lot of improvisation on stage.
Schero, who is in his 20s, said that he had experienced Indians’ pop music fanfare while attending a large music concert of Guns N Roses in Berlin a couple of years ago. He said that the band considered the present tour as an opportunity to understand more about Indian music culture and experience it. Some of the band members even expressed their wish to associate with Indian artists during the tour.
The band is preparing for the release of its first independent album soon.
