Amphetamine worth 40L seized at Cial

Kochi: Amphetamine worth Rs 40 lakh was seized during pre-embarkation security checking by CISF aviation security group (ASG) at Cochin International Airport Ltd (Cial) on Friday. The officials found the contraband from Yoosuf Fuadh, a Maldives native who was supposed to travel to Male.
“During frisking, the officials felt that the passenger concealed something around his thighs. Hence, an official conducted a pat down search of the passenger and detected 33 capsules which were wrapped around his thighs.The capsules were filled with some contraband item,” said official sources.
Officials said that the substance weighed 325.5 grams and was worth around Rs 40 lakh. Later, the passenger was offloaded and taken into custody by NCB. tnn
