Kochi: Actor Sreejith Ravi alias Sreejith TR has approached the high court seeking bail in the case alleging that he exhibited nudity in front of children. Considering the plea, Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas has sought the views of the prosecution in the case. The actor is presently in judicial custody.
The actor has contended that he is suffering from mental health issues and has been under treatment for behavioural disorder at a private hospital in Thrissur since September 2016. A doctor’s certificate regarding his alleged disorder has also been produced in court. His continuation in jail will adversely affect his mental health and his custody is not required as the statements of the girls have been recorded, the actor has contended. The court will hear the case on July 15.
In the case registered by Thrissur Town West police, it is alleged that 45-year-old Sreejith exhibited nudity in front of two girls, aged nine and 14, at Ayyanthol in Thirssur on Monday.
