Kochi: Actor Nadirshah filed a police complaint against a veterinary hospital in Mamangalam over the death of his pet cat, Chakkara, on Sunday morning. The actor said he filed the complaint by mail to the Palarivattom station.
Nadirshah explained that four-year-old Chakkara was taken to the pet hospital for bathing on Saturday. Usually, Chakkara's bathing was carried out after administering anaesthesia since he was a bit aggressive towards strangers. "When my daughter took him to the hospital for bathing before taking him for grooming at another firm, two new staff members said there was no need to administer anaesthesia. The staff also claimed they would groom him. They took him inside by dragging him on a twine. My daughter got his lifeless body back," he said.
The doctor claimed that Chakkara died of a heart attack following anaesthesia. "Chakkara had no health issues when he went to the hospital," Nadirshah said. The autopsy would be held on Monday.
