Addressing a press conference here, Fefka general secretary B Unnikrishnan said all outstanding issues between director Anil Radhakrishnan Menon and actor

Bineesh Bastin

have been resolved. “We had asked for an explanation from Anil Radhakrishnan Menon and he has given us a written reply which is not different from what he has already stated in public. Menon has already apologized to Bastin and hence there is no need for another apology. We are of the view that people read too much into the controversy by giving it dimensions of caste while there was nothing of that sort. Bineesh or the college union representatives never made such an allegation,” Unnikrishnan said admitting that it might have been due to class bias. Anil and Bineesh embraced before the cameras to show that the row has been laid to rest.

Unnikrishnan said while the issue has been settled, he is worried about the future as the film sector has always been a secular space. “The character of the work place in every industry has changed. The relation between employer and employee and genders have also changed. Fefka will strive to make the work place gender-sensitive and without class bias and would organize workshops and interactive sessions to achieve the objective,” he said.
