Abhimanyu's friend Arjun discharged from hospital

KOCHI: Maharaja's College student Arjun Krishna, who was allegedly stabbed by PFI sympathisers, was discharged from a private hospital here on Saturday.


Arjun, a second year Philosophy student, was stabbed in the abdomen in an attack which took the life of

Abhimanyu

M, an SFI leader and BSc student, on July 2.

The 19-year-old student had sustained serious injuries to his liver. He was rushed to the hospital immediately after the attack, which saved his life.

Arjun would be staying at a relative's house in Kochi to continue the treatment, sources said.

Meanwhile, nine people have been arrested in connection with the widely condemned attack. Sources said that several activists of

SDPI

and PFI were taken into custody for interrogation on Saturday.

K H Nasar, state general secretary of the PFI, who was picked up from his house in Mulanthuruthy, was released on Saturday morning. He was shifted to a hospital during interrogation after he complained of uneasiness.

Ernakulam

rural police on Saturday arrested eight SDPI activists for staging a protest without permission. They were produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.

Fourteen days after the brutal crime, the police team probing the case were yet to arrest the prime accused. Meanwhile, it has been rumoured that the assailants had fled the country.
