A woman cannot do this alone: Jolly’s son
KOCHI: Romo Roy, son of late Roy Thomas and Jolly Joseph, has said that he did not believe that his mother could have done this all by herself and that he suspected the involvement of his stepfather Shaju Scaria in the crime.
Roy, a student of hotel management in Shimla, told a television channel that he believed that there were more persons involved in the case and they should be brought before the law. “A woman cannot do this alone without the help of others,” Roy said, referring to the accusations made against his mother. Roy appeared on the programme accompanied by Renji Thomas, sister of Roy Thomas.
He also said the statements made by Jolly’s husband Shaju, casting aspersions on the personal life of his late father Roy Thomas were baseless. “There was an attempt on part of Shaju to pin the entire blame on my mother and father in order to show that he is clean. This shows that he has something to hide,” he said.
Renji alleged that the will in the name of Roy Thomas, purportedly made by Jolly, was fake and she knew it when she saw it for the first time. “We don’t think that Jolly is the only culprit. But I don’t want to comment on it as the probe is progressing. We have faith in the crime branch and want them to bring out the truth. The case once again proved that truth will come out one day even if it takes so many years. It was painful to accept the truth but we feel happy to know it finally,” Renji said.
Roy said that all the culprits should be punished. “A crime is always a crime and the people behind it should be punished. I am still in shock, but I cannot let myself down as I have a younger brother. I have to support him too. God is seeing everything. Let police find all involved in the crime,” he said.
Renji also urged people to make sure of doing postmortem of their beloved ones if they find their death unnatural.
