77 year old man kills wife

KOCHI: A 77 year old man hacked his 64 year old wife to death in Kolencherry on Sunday evening. The accused, Joseph, who surrendered in the police station later, hacked his wife Leela in the evening.
According to police Joseph was not in terms with his wife and three children for years. He felt isolated in the family and suspected wife and children extorted his properties.His children are staying abroad for years. Joseph and Leela were with one of their children in Australia. Though Joseph reached Kolencherry two months ago Leela reached only a week ago.
Using a sharp weapon, Joseph hacked his wife between 5.30pm and 7.30pm. After wandering around, Joseph reached the Puthencruz police station and confessed to killing his wife.
Police has sealed the spot in his house and further steps will be taken on Monday.
