7-yr RI for excise officer in Pocso case

Thrissur: An officer in excise department has been sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually abusing a seven-year-old girl.
The Thrissur fast-track special court judge Bindu Sudhakaran has also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the accused Vinod (50), son of Subramanian of Mettupalayam near Kollengode. He will have to undergo six months more imprisonment if he fails to remit the fine amount.
