3 Cusat students get Norwegian fellowship

Kochi: Three students of the department of computer science, Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat), have been awarded a visiting fellowship by the Research Council of Norway. As part of the fellowship, the students will spend two months at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
Vijay Sankar Babu, research scholar of artificial intelligence and computer vision lab, Noble Austine and Omal Sivankutty, third year students of MSc (five-year integrated) computer science (artificial intelligence and data science), are the recipients of the fellowship. The MSc students will receive a funding of Rs 2 lakh and Babu will get Rs 4 lakh. Under the international partnership programme, which is jointly directed by NTNU and Cusat, the visiting fellowship is given as a component of the international project known as international network for image-based diagnosis. tnn

44 CUSB pupilsget fellowship

Forty-four students from various departments of the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) have been selected for the prestigious Gandhi Fellowship of Piramal Foundation. The highest number of placements, 14, were recorded in the department of mass communications and media studies. The students selected for the fellowship will receive a monthly stipend of Rs25,000 to Rs28,000 for two years and will be required to educate children and their guardians about health and education. CUSB Vice-Chancellor K N Singh congratulated the selected students.

Two IIT-Kanpur professors selected for INSA fellowship

Two professors from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K), Prof Bushra Ateeq and Prof Nitin Saxena, have been selected for the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) fellowship. The fellowship recognizes their research in the fields of cancer and computer science, respectively, and supports them in furthering their research. Prof Ateeq has made significant contributions to cancer research, including her work on the role of a peptidase inhibitor in cancer progression. Prof Saxena is known for his work in developing algorithms in computer science. Both professors have received numerous accolades for their research.
