Naked woman’s headless body found on Kanpur highway with broken arms, legs

KANPUR: In a shocking incident, the decapitated and disrobed body of a woman was discovered on the highway in the Gujaini area of Kanpur on Wednesday. The discovery was made by locals who alerted the police about the woman's body lying in the middle of the road.

Senior police officials, including Commissioner of Police Akhil Kumar and deputy commissioner of police (South) Ravindra Kumar, along with officers from multiple police stations and a forensic team, responded to the incident. The area near Munna Tiraha, under the limits of Gujaini police station, became the focus of the investigation.

The identity of the woman is unknown. The police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination to gather vital evidence.

Multiple teams have been formed to investigate the case, identify the victim and locate her decapitated head. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this horrific crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.

DCP South Ravindra Kumar said, "The woman appears to be 35 years of age. We are in the process of scanning CCTVs installed in and around the area to ascertain the facts that led to her death. The forensic team has been roped in at the scene to collect evidence. Currently, no items have been found at the location except her slippers and broken teeth. Neither the woman's phone, ID, nor any bag was recovered at the site."

Meanwhile, another police official involved in the investigation said that the absence of any personal belongings at the scene raises suspicion that the woman may have been killed elsewhere and her body dumped at the location.

"No blood was even found at the spot. However, blood was found pooled inside her neck, which made it appear that she had died several hours ago. The woman's arms and legs were broken, which appears to have been crushed by passing vehicles," he said.

The woman is not a resident of the area, as her family members would have reported her missing to the police station if she were local, the police officer added.
