West Bengal duo win in bridge tournament

Kanpur: West Bengal duo Kaustubh Nandi and Sangik Roy ascended to the summit position after the sixth round, accumulating 75 victory points in the All-India Sir Padampat Singhania memorial bridge tournament at the Kamla Club on Friday.
The pair advanced from fourth position with 58.04 VP, demonstrating remarkable improvement in the subsequent round to secure the lead. Gopinath Manna and Sandip Dutta (Mumbai & WB) closely trail at second position with 74.23 VP. The Delhi and Gurgaon women pair Asha Sharma and Devi Bhatnagar retained their third position with 72.81 VPs.
After round 5, Rana Roy and Abhijit Chakraborty of West Bengal had surged from fifth to first place with 61.53 VP. However, they descended to fourth position with 68 VPs post the sixth round. Vibhas K Todi and Kamal Mukherjee secured fifth position with 66.15 VPs, while Swapon Some and Atanu Ganguli occupied sixth place with 66.14 points. tnn
