A watchman hired by a local businessman was arrested in Bareilly after faking a robbery at his employer's showroom.

BAREILLY: A watchman hired by a local businessman was arrested in Bareilly after faking a robbery at his employer's showroom.
Rajeev Agarwal, a sanitary tile showroom owner, filed a police complaint about a robbery at his showroom on Saturday night. During investigation, the police questioned the watchman, Meghraj, who alleged that three robbers broke into the showroom, tied him up and made off with cash and other valuables.

However, the watchman's version of events appeared contradictory and on further questioning he confessed he had committed the crime and cooked up the story to save himself.
Rajeev Malhotra, SP (City), said, "After questioning he confessed his involvement in the crime and also named two of his accomplices." He added that police were on the lookout for the other accused.
