Kanpur: Host Vidrabha sat on a comfortable seat after piling a mammoth total of 53 runs in its first innings and claiming two wickets of UP for 32 runs at the end of second day of their quarterfinal tie at Alembic-2 stadium in Nagpur.
After a fine three figure innings of

YV Rathod

, Harsh Dubey also played a fine knock of 103 runs and his 156 runs partnership with PR Rekhade for 8th wicket pushed host

Vidarbha

to a strong position. Harsh faced 165 balls for his 103 runs consisting of 14 boundaries and 2 sixes. Rekhade played as many as 150 balls for his 68 came with the help of 7 hits to the fence.
Rathod and

SK Wath

resumed Vidarbha’s innings from 4 for 270. Aaquib

khan

struck before the two bartsmen could settle themselves for the second day’s proceedings. He claimed the wicket of Wath for 71 when Siddharth Yadav held him. UP got another success by luck when Rathod was adjudged as run out on throw of Sameer Chaudhary .Score at this juncture was 331.Just after addition of 4 runs Rishabh Bansal got success for UP claiming Bhute.
Thereafter Harsh Dubey and Rekhade foiled all attempts of UP bowlers to claim other success. They together played around 267 balls and scored 156 runs in their union.
Kunal Yadav ultimately broke their union when Pranjal Saini held a catch of Harsh Dubey. Rekhade on the other end batted with grit and he was the last batsmen to return back after scoring 68 runs.
For UP medium pacer Aaquib Khan and Kunal Yadav grabbed 4 and 3 wickets respectively. Rishabh Bansal and Ankit Chaudhary both scalped one wicket each.
Much was expected from Aanjaney Suryavanshi as he was an informed batsmen and had scored two centuries in the last four innings.But he disappointed his fans as well as his team when he returned after scoring 14 runs. His prize wicket was scalped by Dhamnesh when Harsh Dubey held his edge .Earlier Bhute had trapped Siddharth Yadav for 4. At close, Sawan Singh and Sameer Rizvi were batting on 4 and 6 runs respectively.
