Kanpur: Uttarakhand outplayed UP by 3 wickets and qualified for the quarterfinals of Women’s under-19 one-day cricket tournament at Cap ground-2 in Pune on Monday.
UP, putting into bat, scored 85 runs in 35.3 overs. Captain Varnika Singh scored the highest 31 runs for his side in 36 balls. Thereafter only Bhumi Singh (14) and Tanu Kesarwani (10) could reach the double figure.
For UP, the best 23 runs partnership was executed by Bhumi Singh and Varnika for the second wicket. For Uttarakhand, Pooja Raj bagged 4 wickets for 16 runs.
Nisha Mishra picked 2 wickets for 11 runs and Raghvi and Sakshi took one wicket each.
Uttarakhand in reply scored the required 86 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 35.2 overs. A. Shah (16), Raghvi (19), Neelam (16) and Nandini Kashyap (12 ) were the main scorers. Shah and Raghvi executed a best 39 runs partnership in 77 balls for the second wicket. For UP, Bhumi Singh and Tanu Kesarwani picked 2 wickets each.
