UPCA selection committee takes trial of 280 players

Kanpur: The senior selection committee of UPCA tested the cricketing skills of 280 cricketers of Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Lucknow, Faizabad, Farrukhabad and Jhansi districts to pick the probable for the Ranji Trophy team.Praveen Gupta, chairman of the senior selection committee and Manoj Singh, Ratnesh Mishra, Arish Alam and Vishwajeet examined the aspirants and gave them some useful tips. Around 27 aspirants appeared from Kanpur Nagar. The selectors will test the aspirants of western UP on Thursday. According to Ankit Chatterjee, CEO, UPCA, the selection trial was a talent hunt and the best would be picked to join the band of senior players for trial matches and UP league. Meanwhile, Sunil Joshi, chief coach of the senior team too reached there and witnessed the drills of senior players. Mohd Faheem, honorary vice-president of UPCA also witnessed the preparation of players. He encouraged the players to display their best and hoped that they would add feathers to the cap of UP.
