UPAA announces teams for Youth athletics championship
Kanpur: UP Athletics Association (UPAA) announced its under-18 men and women teams for 18th National Youth Athletics Championships-2023 to be held at Mahatma Gandhi District stadium, Ajjarkad (Udupi) in Karnataka from March 10 to March 12.Sandeep Kumar Singh of Amethi and Shamshad Nissar (Aligarh) have been deputed as chief team managers and Sanjiv Kumar Srivastava (SAI Varanasi) and Rahul Panwar (Ghaziabad) will be the coaches of the team.According to PK Srivastava, secretary of UP Athletics Association, the members of the team are required to contact Sandeep Kumar Singh (Joint Sec UPAA) for their travel and participation in the national meet. The meet will serve as trials for selection of Indian athletes for the 5th Asian Youth Athletics Championships-2023 scheduled to be held in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) from April 27 to April 30 this year.The members of the team are:U-18 Men-Anshu Rajak, Ajeet Kumar Maurya, Vishal Pal & Sheikh Zeeshan (All from Varanasi) Lav Rawat (Hathras), Shivam & Dipanshu Sharma (Both from Ghaziabad) Yash Tomar & Abhay Chaudhary (Both from Moradabad), Himanshu Rathi & Kartik (Both from Baghpat), Yugank Chaudhary (Saharanpur) Bhola Yadav (Ghazipur) Kishan Kumar (Chandauli) Arvind Gupta, Aman Singh, Arya Dev, Satyam Yadav, Abdul Rahman, Gaurav Patel & Tushar Giri (All from Prayagraj) Abhinav Singh, Dheeraj Yadav & Ajay Kumar Yadav (All from Jaunpur), Ajay Yadav (Mau) Akash (Meerut), Abhishek Yadav (Etawah), Sarthak Singh (Amethi), Harshit Gahlot (Shamli) Ashish Singh (Shahjahanpur) Golu Yadav (Kaushambi) and Prashant Kumar (Firozabad).U-8 Women- Roshani Yadav, Shivani Maurya, Shikha Yadav, Maya Maurya & Richa Yadav (All from Varanasi), Reshma (Aligarh) Mansha Chauhan (Mau) Sonam Pal, Vartika Patel & Pratima Verma (All from Chandauli), Svejal (Jaunpur) Manorama Sikarwar (Firozabad) Ritu Chaudhary (Etawah) Rita Rathore (Meerut) Manu Yadav & Tanu Yadav (Both from Prayagraj), Swati Singh (Amethi) Manashvi Sidhu & Nancy (Both from Amroha), Shagun Banga (Sambhal), Neha Yadav (Baghpat) Muskan Patel (Kaushambi) Sarojini (Unnao) and Yashashvi Dubey (Lucknow).
