UP defeat J&K, win by an innings and 113 runs in CK Nayudu trophy

Kanpur: UP defeated host J&K team by an innings and 113 runs on the third day of their four-day pool league match of Col CK Nayudu trophy which concluded at the hostel ground JKCA Jammu on Tuesday.UP secured 7 points including one bonus, marking their second consecutive victory. They swiftly wrapped up J&K's first innings at 212 runs during the pre-lunch session and gave follow-on with a substantial lead of 265 runs. UP bowlers efficiently dismantled J&K's second innings for mere 152 runs, securing a commanding victory.J&K resumed their first innings from overnight score 8 for 185, adding only 27 runs before losing their remaining wickets. Yawar Hassan top-scored with 58 runs before the innings concluded in 66.1 overs. For UP, Vijay Yadav and Shubham Mishra claimed 3 wickets each. UP had earlier scored 477 runs in their first innings, highlighted by Rituraj Sharma's double century.In their second innings, J&K struggled as wickets fell consistently. Qazi Junaid and Musaif Ajaz forged the highest partnership of 47 runs for the second wicket in 75 balls. Qazi scored 27 runs from 54 balls before falling to Prashant Veer, while Musaif was bowled by Vijay Yadav for 24 runs. Yawar Hassan contributed 23 runs from 60 balls.J&K lost half their side at 101 runs. Archit Mahajan crafted 20 runs, forming the second-best partnership of 35 runs for the 8th wicket with Janib.
