UP-20 league: Ex-captain of UP will be chief referee

Kanpur: Former UP captain and international match referee Sunil Chaturvedi will be the chief referee of the UP T-20 league to be held at the Green Park stadium from August 30.
Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association is organizing its prestigious league on the lines of IPL for which it has appointed two more match referees named--Rohit Prakash and Rohit Parminder.
To supervise the 32 league matches, the organizing committee of UPCA has engaged as many as 13 BCCI panel umpires of the state. According to BN Shukla, chairman of umpires and scorers committee, four umpires who had passed the BCCI exam this year will be included in the list of umpires. Apart from it, UPCA will also use its four BCCI panel scorers in the league.
Talking to TOI, he said the league would be based on the IPL format, and all rules including DRS are likely to be adopted in the UP T-20 league. Everything would be finalized in a couple of days in a meeting. Meanwhile, UPCA released a league fixture and the inaugural match will be played between host Kanpur and Noida on August 30 at the Green Park stadium.
