Kanpur: Ahead of the Global Investors’ Summit in Lucknow from February 10 to 12, investment proposals worth Rs 26,000 crore were received from investors at an investors’ summit in Unnao on Monday. Industrial development minister Nand Gopal Nandi, MSME minister Rakesh Sachan and state transport minister Dayashankar Singh were present at the meeting attended by 200 investors.
General manager of the District Industry Centre, Karuna Rai, said that the list of investors included entrepreneurs who were already doing business in the district.
“In the journey from 2017 to 2022, Uttar Pradesh has become ‘Uttam Pradesh’. Now, it is on its way to become the ‘Sarvottam Pradesh’ (Best State). Unnao has received proposals for investment of Rs 26,000 crore against the target of Rs 3,000 crore,” Nandi said in his address.
He added, “There are more than 600 MSME units in the district, in which more and more investment will be done while more and more people will get employment. The situation of Unnao is such that there are more and more possibilities of investment here.” “It is located between two metropolitan cities and new investors will ensure the availability of land in the central areas of UPSIDA. Investors have been welcomed to invest more and more in the areas of warehousing, logistics manufacturing, etc., in the district,” he said.
On the occasion, Sachan informed the investors about the single window system, i.e., ‘Nivesh Mitra Portal’, the facility of NOC from the concerned departments within 72 hours of all the departments being provided to the investors. An appeal has been made to the entrepreneurs for maximum investment.
About 200 entrepreneurs/investors were present in the programme. An exhibition was also organized through stalls by various departments and entrepreneurs, which were observed and praised by the dignitaries.
District magistrate Apoorva Dubey thanked the investors, and said that no investor in the district will face any problem in starting a project. “All their problems will be solved, due to which Unnao has always been at the top in the entire state for a long time,” he added. Among the major companies that participated in the investors summit were M/s Land Mark Hotel Group with Rs.740 crore investment proposal, M/s Anand Builders Group Rs 3,000 crore, M/s Ambition Beverages Pvt. Maillays Rs 155 crore & M/s HL Films India Pvt Ltd Rs 250 crore.
